SHIATSU
Shiatsu is a Japanese healing art which incorporates, Chinese medicine with Japanese body work. This includes: stretching acupressure and gentle manipulation. Diagnosis is taken from the Hara, Back, Tongue and or pulse and a treatment regime implemented.

ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese method of natural healing that involves inserting extremely fine needles into certain areas or acupuncture points. Its rationale is that when the body is diseased and out of balance, the manipulation of needles at certain points located along the meridians regulates the flow of vital energy (Qi) and blood, and therefore restores balance to the organs and tissues. It has been used safely and successfully in treating disease for over 3,000 years and extensive studies have shown its effectivness in treating a range of modern health conditions.

SPORTS MASSAGE
Sports massage is a form of massage involving the manipulation of soft tissue to benefit a person engaged in regular physical activity. Soft tissue is connective tissue that has not hardened into bone and cartilage; it includes skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia (a form of connective tissue that lines and ensheathes the other soft tissues). Sports massage is designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue that are caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. The application of sports massage, prior to and after exercise, may enhance performance, aid recovery and prevent injury.

REFLEXOLOGY
Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary health therapy, based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body. Reflexologists work holistically with their clients and aim to work alongside allopathic healthcare to promote better health for their clients.

CUPPING
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

MOXIBUSTION
Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy in which dried plant materials called "moxa" are burned on or very near the surface of the skin. The intention is to warm and invigorate the flow of Qi in the body and dispel certain pathogenic influences.

My journey into complementary therapies began in 1997 when I trained in Reflexology. Shortly after my training, I fell in love with the gentle yet comprehensive and powerful system of Shiatsu at a Japanese cultural fair. This culminated with me training to become a Shiatsu practitioner. Gradually, over the years, my journey into Chinese medicine and oriental energetic bodywork gained depth, resulting in me adding Acupuncture to my skill set and experience. Over the past twenty years as a therapist I have gained invaluable knowledge and experience and enjoy combining systems to provide the best possible results, be it Sports Massage with Cupping therapy or Shiatsu with Acupuncture and Moxibustion.

I have had my own successful practice for the past twenty years and have also practiced as a Senior Therapist at Breast Cancer Haven in Leeds for eleven years, offering support and relief with a range of issues in and around primary and secondary Cancer, pre and post medication, helping relieve drug side effects and helping clients to get back on their feet both emotionally and physically pre and post operation. I offer a full range of therapies that can be carried out individually or combined, relative to the issues and needs of the individual concerned and have the knowledge and valuable experience to deal with a wide range of physical and emotional issues.
